elcome to the newest branch of One Stitch in the Veil! Walking in Biblical Freedom will serve as a resource for One Stitch followers to obtain materials, links, apologetics tools, and encouragement to help you in your battle to stay strong in the gospel as you navigate through the harm spiritual deception and/or abuse has caused to you or your loved ones.

One of my favorite resources is our biannual women’s studies and support groups. Here you will also be able to sign up for those studies with supplemental materials and videos to compliment our time together. Also, for those who cannot make it to the studies, you will have all the resources and discussion points here for your use at your own pace.

As this site continues to be built, keep checking back for updates and new posts! It will take me some time to get everything up and running. In the mean time, you can utilize the categories link at the top menu bar for continued education and encouragement. And, don’t forget to visit One Stitch in the Veil on YouTube and Facebook for new videos in 2025!

Made in His Image

“And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:27

Only, we could not maintain this image. . .without a rescue plan.

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose. Because those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brothers; and those whom He predestined, He also called; and those whom He called, He also justified; and those whom He justified, He also glorified.” Romans 8:28-30

The Veil was Torn

“And behold, the veil of the sanctuary was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth shook and the rocks were split.” Genesis 27:51

The veil was the curtain that covered the inner room, where the arc of the covenant, called the Mercy Seat, was kept sacred. God would speak between the two golden cherubim on the lid, which was the seat. When the priest would sprinkle blood onto the seat every year on the Day of Atonement. If he entered the room at any other time he would die. God would have mercy on the Israelites for their sins at the annual sprinkling of the blood but it was never enough to pay the debt of humanity’s unfaithfulness since Adam until that day. Then the Redeemer came and the curtain that blocked humanity’s access to God because of their sin was utterly destroyed. And the Mercy seat where Christ now resides, is where we may enter and rest with Him, no longer incurring the punishment of death for daring to enter, but receiving the gift of everlasting life for boldly running to His arms.

“Now even the first covenant had requirements of divine worship and the earthly sanctuary.2 For there was a tabernacle prepared: the first part, in which were the lampstand and the table and the sacred bread, which is called the holy place.3 And behind the second veil there was a tabernacle which is called the Holy of Holies,4 having a golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, in which was a golden jar holding the manna, and Aaron’s rod which budded, and the tablets of the covenant.5 And above it were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat. Of these things we cannot now speak in detail.6 Now when these things have been so prepared, the priests are continually entering the first part of the tabernacle performing the divine worship,7 but into the second, only the high priest enters once a year, not without taking blood, which he offers for himself and for the sins of the people committed in ignorance.8 The Holy Spirit is indicating this, that the way into the holy places has not yet been manifested while that first part of the tabernacle is still standing,9 which is a symbol for the present time. Accordingly both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make the worshiper perfect in conscience,10 since they relate only to food and drink and various washings, requirements for the body imposed until a time of reformation.

The New Covenant

But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation,12 and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy places once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.13 For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh,14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?15 And for this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the trespasses that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.” Hebrews 9: 1-15

Marked with a Seal

God’s covenant with man, his “berit” comes with a seal or a symbol. Each covenant is established unchanging in its specific terms. Though it may be fulfilled or come to an end, the terms may not be altered or changed. This one reason why the New Covenant is not “renewed”; It is entirely new with its own terms and its own seal. The seal of the Mosaic covenant was the Sabbath. The seal of the New Covenant, is the Holy Spirit. These covenants do not and can not coexist. The first was meant to end to make way for the New. For more on Covenants, please enjoy my online covenants study or go deeper together with others in my covenants Bible study.

“For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups one and broke down the dividing wall of the partition15 by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might create the two into one new man, making peace,16 and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, having in Himself put to death the enmity.17 And He came and preached the good news of peace to you who were far away, and peace to those who were near;18 for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.” Ephesians 2:14-17

“Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God,22 who also sealed us and gave the pledge of the Spirit in our hearts.” Corinthians 1:21-22

“In Him, you also, after listening to the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,14 who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, unto the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory.” Ephesians 1:13-14
